Product Description

EcoQue Grills consume up to 75-percent less fuel than similar sized grills utilizing our Patented, Energy Efficient Design. The unique reflective Pyramid design focuses more heat up toward the cooking surface for optimal performance. Our 12" model can cook a meal for four people using as few as nine charcoal briquettes. No briquettes handy? Use any biomass fuel: sticks, twigs, wood chunks, lump charcoal, alcohol or other wood products. By changing the orientation, height and quantity of the fuel, you can easily adjust the amount of heat delivered to the cooking surface. EcoQue Grills are made from high quality Stainless Steel. They are durable, but lightweight and collapse to just over one inch in thickness. The grill sets up with no tools in under a minute and they come with their own carry bag made from recycled materials. Whether you're heading to the beach, the big game, or the campground, the EcoQue Portable Grill lets you enjoy the experience of outdoor cooking with unprecedented efficiency and convenience.

5Wow! What A Grill!
By ShopSmart
I got the EcoQue portable grill after reading about it on the uncooped.com portable grill review. I liked the idea of having a grill that used a lot less fuel, and thought this would be a great gift for my Dad who loves to grill (but honestly isn't that environmentally conscious). He was skeptical at first of the claims that it only took nine pieces of charcoal to cook a meal on this thing, but after our first burgers, he was completely convinced. The first time we set it up, he followed the directions and it was pretty straightforward. It comes folded in a carry bag and set up in about a minute. We used the charcoal laying down as the instructions suggested, and it got fired up in about ten minutes - way better than his big gas grill when grilling for just a few of us. We didn't need the hood the first time we used it, but have had to a couple times since when the wind kicked up. It's pretty easy to take off the hood with the tool they give you, which we also figured out can be used to open and close the lid too! You can easily fit four big burgers on top, but we've also done steaks and kebabs now too.Clean up is so easy with this thing. It's all stainless steel, so you can literally wipe it clean with a paper towel (so long as you oil or use PAM on the grate first), and then fold it flat again and slip it in the bag. I think we'll take this out with us to the lake. We'll probably also get the foil liners they sell. The best part is you don't have some huge thing taking up space on your patio. He keeps it stored in the bag under his gas grill and he's used it a bunch of times now when lighting up that propane monstrosity seemed pointless. I don't even have to ask him to use it - he loves it!

4Cleverly designed, durable and effective
By Richard T. Leitner
I'm a gadget guy, and this certainly had the visual appeal to get my attention. The theory behind the unit is quite ingenious and I figured it would be excellent for my limited space or when tent/car camping. Keep in mind though, that the unit is way too heavy for true backpacking. Apparently, the EcoQue is a reincarnation of a similar grill called the "Pyromid" that was very well regarded but ceased production some time ago. I have to say that I am very happy with the unit. I still have some fine-tuning to do with my cooking techniques, as the unit cooks by direct heat and it is easy to burn or overcook burgers and other items, but the grill works great. It uses a sparing amount of charcoal (in fact, I found that using more charcoal tends to create too much heat and burn the food, one thing I'm "fine tuning") and is ready to cook in about 10 minutes. Unlike some 'hibachi' type grills, the EcoQue also includes a hinged top to keep the surface of the grill somewhat protected from wind and rain. Great idea! Cleanup is fairly easy (it's dishwasher safe if the parts will fit in your dishwasher) and the most impressive part is that the entire unit folds down to a volume of about 12x12x1 and fits nicely in the included bag made of recycled materials. Yeah, one inch thick for storage ... very nice. I would have preferred a more robust carry bag with room for some of the accessories (like the griddle), but the included sack seems durable enough. Overall, a great idea and very nicely executed!
