A Nice No Frills Grill.

This is a solidly built no frills grill made by the "Onward Manufacturing Company" in Canada. It features a stainless steel burner tube, cast aluminum grill box and a heavy porcelain coated cooking grate. Assembly is easy and once done the grill performs very well. It can get hot enough to really sear a steak. With the built in thermometer and gas control valve you can easily regulate the cooking temperature. Everything I have cooked on it has turned out great and I have found the grill easy to clean. Here are a few things you should know. Amazon's product description is wrong about the cooking grate. It is not made of porcelain coated cast iron. That feature is found on the "Porta Chef Pro" model. This grill's cooking grate is made from 1/4" thick solid steel rod which is porcelain coated. No matter I have found it to offer even heating. This grill is designed to use the bigger refillable propane tanks. The hose and connection for the tank is included with the grill as well as a "Tank Retainer" which supports the propane tank and attaches to the grill's legs. For transporting two adjustable carrying straps are included. I consider this a very viable alternative to other good quality portable grills like the Weber Q 120. As of this writing if you order it from "Aim To Find" directly you will get a much lower price. That's what I did. Happy grilling! PRODUCT UPDATE 4/27/2013I am now into my second season with this grill. My opinion hasn't changed. It is still great! Amazon still hasn't gotten the description of this grill right. It is not made from stainless steel. The majority of it is cast aluminum. Which is better. Cast aluminum will not rust and it will hold the heat in better. This is basically the same grill as the "Porta Chef Pro" model without the plastic side shelves, the condiment holders/utensil hooks in the front and the warming rack. So anyone wishing to upgrade it with a warming rack could order the one for the "Porta Chef Pro" model. That's what I did and it fits perfectly. The same would be true for the cooking grate. Should you ever want or need to replace the original one. Once again happy grilling!

Some disappointing issues

The unit was essentially as presented on line and easy to assemble. But I guess I did not pay enough attention. There is no side shelf to hold trays, dishes, condiments, etc. AND none appears to be available as an accessory. Also, there is no way to hang utensils from the unit nor is there any accessory available to handle that problem. I would suggest the stainless steel unit from the same company which appears to have both, for about $30.00 more.

I own two of these grills. One for home and one for my RV. They both work great and being portable makes them even better. They actually do a better job than larger more expensive grills I have used since the flame seems to be easier to control.
