Product Description

A charcoal grill turns any day into a Saturday. The undeniable sizzle and smoke announce steak night to the entire neighborhood, and instantly beckon friends and beverages to the backyard. A red-hot charcoal briquette is culinary perfection. But existing grills leave room for improvement. So Emeril Lagasse has raised the bar on this backyard stalwart. First, he expanded the cooking area to a magnificent 424 square inches. Now you have the space and flexibility to serve everything together and hot off the grill. He also tightened up the nuts and bolts for a more functional grill. The Emeril outdoor charcoal grill has four legs instead of three, which means more stability for cooking and safety around the family. The unit itself is made of heavy-gauge steel with a porcelain-coated firebox and high-temperature coated paint. Then there's the heavy-duty ash system, the high-quality thermometer and the friendly hinged lid. This grill is built to last, and easy to use. No detail has been overlooked to create the ultimate charcoal grilling experience.

2I got a lemon
By Robert M
I got a Lemon. Of course I got the one Lemon out of hundreds. It arrived new in the box, ceramic around the top lid lip and the bottom lip were chipped in numerous places. The top will not seal to the bottom. The top is bent, probably during the pressing process it was never pressed all the way so it is not true. You can tell a good draft system if when you close the dampers and the fire is choked out. Due to the bent lid it does not stop the draft.Extremely heavy duty construction. Took about 20 mins to assemble and about an hour to figure out the lid was not true. The ceramic coating is really thick compared to what you find around town, I know cause I can see the chips and how thick the coating is.Excellent handles. leg construction, and hinges. The grate lifts up, hinged in the middle, and makes lighting it up, adding coal, and working under the cook grate excellent and a snap.Seems to have excellent draft control, even with the bent lid, I was able to adjust the 2 drafts and maintain a constant temperature. (Have not checked the thermometer for accuracy yet but will, seemed pretty accurate.)Poor ash collection. You have to remove both the cooking grate and the charcoal grate then sweep the ashes into the ash can under it. But you do not have to clean out every time you grill, as ash falls it knocks the ash left in the bottom into the ash can, and if you move the bottom draft back and forth it will keep it clear.Cheap ass plastic wheels. For the money you would think they would put $1 wheels instead of C.25 wheels on it.After cooking a few times I think, with an unbent lid, this will be an awesome grill, with long life, and great features. Even with the bent lid it cooks at a 95%.

4Great grill, needs outdoor cover
By neg
Excellent grill, fun to use, has everything one would need to get great results. However, Viking needs to make a protective cover for this wonderful product. It's frustrating that Viking seemingly thought of everything to make this grill great, except an outdoor grill cover!

4expert griller
By Salahedde M. Salah
I never judge a book by it's cover or a snake by it's color, I have been evaluating portable grills for the past 20 yearsI purchased the Emeril charcoal grill last summer to see how it compares to others, especially the most popular of all the Weber kettle grill.Assembly: I have to be hones with you assembly is very difficult even for the experienced, the legs were near impossible to assemble, the wheel were just as hard to put on, the handles have too many pieces to assemble when it should have been a simple bolt and washer. The handle itself if you are not careful is made of plastic of some sort if you are not careful and tighten the screw too much the handle will crack. the hinges are made of so many pieces and gaskets and nuts and bolts all unnecessary, the ash catcher is hard to push in and pull out seems like it's dragging , If you are not careful the paint will easily get scratched.I am already exhausted assembling this product, now to the real test:Cooking grid is absolutely one of the best out there heavy duty will constructed with alarge hinge that allows adding charoal.Cooking space allows for all kinds of food to be cooked on it enough to feed an army.Temperature control is excellent I have had the best ever cooked chicken on this grill awesome color and cooked to perfection. I tried hamburgers hot dogs, kabobs, shrimp, steaks, short ribs, you name it all came out gourmet quality with beautiful grill marks.by the way this grill does not need alot of charcoal to get the job done. no hot spots no flare ups. This grill must remain stationary, you can't take it to the park for a picnic.difficult to assemble, but awesome gourmet food is the prize.
