Product Description

Solaire is the Muscle Car of gas grills. Sleek. Powerful. Efficient. Each Solaire grill has a "rocket under the hood" - the Solaire Infrared Burner. This superior burner gives you the high heat to lock in the juices for more tasty, flavorful food than you can ever get from a conventional barbecue grill. Professional chefs demand high heat to create great taste - and now you can too with a Solaire Infrared. This grill is factory installed onto a stainless steel cart with casters, folding side shelves and double doors. The Grill Head is factory assembled for use with natural gas; it can be converted to propane with accessory gas conversion kit item #SOL-NG-LP-30IV. A hose for connecting to a gas line is not included (recommend item #SOL-12HOSE12). This InfraVection grill includes one infrared and one convection main burners, each delivering 27,500 BTU/hr, metal knobs, and battery powered (9-volt) push-button electronic ignition. Stainless steel wire warming rack is 26 1/2 wide x 7 1/2 inches deep. The weight-balanced double-skinned hood includes a mirror polish accent, and has a stay-cool rotating stainless steel handle with knurled grip. The firebox is fully welded at the seams which are then ground and polished by hand. No mechanical fasteners are used. A full length cover is included for you to protect your investment when it is not in use. Solaire is a grilling machine that gives you the great flavor of an intensely hot charcoal fire with the control, convenience and consistency of gas. Become the undisputed wizard of backyard grilling, the envy of your neighborhood, and the hero of your family when you serve them juicier, more flavorful food then they've ever tasted from an ordinary grill.

5Amazing grill
By M Larsson
This grill is simply amazing. It is made entirely out of stainless steel, and arrives fully assembled. It is quite heavy, and it is a two person job getting it off the wooden pallet it is shipped on. To hook it up to natural gas, the manufacturer recommends SOL-12HOSE12, however, as I found out, it does not come with all the fittings needed. The grill has a 1/2" FPT (Female Pipe Thread), and hose has a 1/2" flare connection. You will need a 1/2" MPT (Male Pipe Thread) to 1/2" Male Flare adapter. You'll find these at your hardware store in the same section where they keep fittings to hook up your gas appliances. Make sure you put pipe dope on the pipe thread, but not on the flare thread. The other end of the hose has a quick connect fitting, with a 1/2" FPT. In my case, the gas outlet on the outside of my house had a 1/2" FPT as well, so I had to get a 1/2" MPT to MPT fitting, which I found in the same area in my hardware store as the other fitting. Make sure you liberally apply pipe dope to the male fittings and leak check with 1 part dish liquid, 1 part water, brush it onto all the fittings, including the ones that were factory installed. The grill heats up very quickly. The infrared is glowing red within minutes. To grill steaks, I put them on the infrared burner, 2 minutes on each side (turning them 90 degrees after 1 minute to give them a cross pattern), and then I move them to the convection side to finish cooking them. Make sure you leave the lid open, unless you turn down the burners.I bought this grill to replace a 26,000 BTU Weber propane grill, and the difference is like night and day. With the amount of energy this grill puts out, I'm happy I went with the natural gas version. I have a feeling it would go through propane tanks like there is no tomorrow. Another nice feature is that it can be converted into a built-in grill should I ever decide to build a bbq island. The grill is the same as the non-cart version and it is just bolted to the cart. The cart itself is quite basic. It has a little raised shelf on the bottom inside, and it has a shelf on the inside of each door, but there are no hooks to hang things like brushes or tongs on.
