1VERY VERY DISAPOINTED WITH LYNX
By uphappy with Lynx
First review I have ever written. Bought this unit and am very very disapointed. Unit has caught on fire 3 times (electrical). First time Lynx sent me the replacment parts free saying there was an electrical defect in this model36" Pro Sear Natural gas grill. 2nd and 3rd times it caught on fire I had to purchase the parts from LYNX. Over $200 for each fire. All electrical problems. I have spent much time on the phone with Lynx and I have been told its from the wind to, not supposed to leave the top closed for more than 25 minutes at a time while cooking, to the type of steak I am cooking. I dont use the unit any more. First I can't afford to spend over $200 each time it catches on fire, and second I dont want to burn my fence or house down. I purchased a smoker and a propane (not a fan of propane) grill which is set up next to my $4,000 Lynx. I bought this unit because of the good reviews the unit and their customer service got. What a mistake. First off over $4,000 for a BBQ is kind of crazy, second is all the excuses they have for the problem. Would never buy or recommend this unit again. I hope this review helps somebody not to make the same mistake I did.

1Reliability Far Short of Price
By naodgo
I purchased a Lynx L36R as part of my "dream" built-in poolside kitchen. All other parts of the project worked as promised, but the Lynx is anything but the top end grill it was advertised to be. Electronics ALL failed in the first year (ignitor, lights, rotisserie).

1electrical disaster
By Frustrated in CA
Bought this grill about 2 years ago. The electronics worked for about two weeks. Have had the repair guys out nearly every month for the first 12 months. Now the electronic ignition system doesn't work, the power to the rotis doesn't work, the lights don't work. The last repair guys (sent by Lynx) said that almost all of their Lynx calls were for electrical issues and it wasnt' worth fixing it after the 12 month warranty. Last week the thermometer stopped working. What a piece of junk. The stainless steel exterior still looks good...We use the grill about 3x a week. Previously rusted out a Weber every 3-4 years. Going back to Weber at 1/2 the cost..... Very disappointing.
