Top Notch Built-in Grill
By C. Niedermayer
The Weber Summit S-460 is a professional quality product that should meet all your entertaining needs. You can use just the burners you need when preparing a meal for two or crank them all up to have a large cooking area for multiple hungry guests. The rotisserie burner is perfect for that purpose. I have never had such good pork tenderloin as the one we cooked on the rotisserie. The smoker chamber is a nice feature that adds a bit of the slow smoked taste that is usually reserved for wood smokers. The grill is made from solid, quality stainless steel that looks great and should last for many years. I was surprised by how well the handle light works to illuminate the cooking area at night. I highly recommend this product over the many others on the market that cost considerably more.

Best Grill Ever
By Roger Dooley
I've had this grill for a year, and it's by far the best grill I've owned. I had a somewhat similar freestanding Weber before, but this Summit S-460 seems to have a lot more heating power. The four burners run perpendicular to the front of the grill, so you can control the heat levels in different areas. If you are cooking a small batch, like a couple of steaks, you can use two burners.I've never had a grill heat up so quickly. The heat is very even across the large cooking surface, unlike some grills I've owned in the past that had hot and cold spots one had to allow for when placing food. This grill has three special burners, too. There's a power boost burner between the two main burners in the center of the unit. If I'm cooking something small that I know won't need to sit on the grill for long, I'll kick that one on to get a nice browning effect with minimal time. The second special burner is the smoker. It works relatively well, but don't expect long-term smoke from it. Load the little side tray up with damp chips, turn on the smoker burner, and in few minutes it will produce a satisfying quantity of smoke to the interior of the grill. This lasts about ten minutes, and will add a little smoke aroma/flavor to the food. For food that will be on the grill for just a few minutes, like shrimp, don't expect much flavor transfer. I don't use the smoker very often, but it's fun once in a while for food that will be on the grill for a while. The one feature I haven't used is the motorized rotisserie and associated burner. If it matches up with the other grill features, I'm sure it performs well. The burner control across the front are easy to use and don't get in the way. My old standalone Weber had the controls on the side shelf, and they got in the way of plates, grill tools, etc. The light is a gravity-triggered, battery operated LED gizmo on the handle. It will only turn on when the lid is open. I've got enough external light in the grill area that I haven't used this feature other than to try it out. It's hardly a spotlight, but you should be able to find your burgers at night. One thing that is different about this grill when compared to other built-in units is that it is a "slide in" vs. a "drop in" style unit. It has its own storage area and drip-catcher access as part of the unit. That saves a few dollars, as one would normally need to buy doors and/or cabinet inserts with a typical drop-in unit. I like the integrated look and it seems like servicing or, at some point in the future, replacing the unit might be easier. The contractor prepared the space in the bar/counter, including a level concrete floor at the right distance from the counter, and this grill rolled right into the space. All built-in grills seemed to be priced higher than comparable free-standing units, but compared to the drop-ins that several contractors proposed, this Weber was actually quite a bit less. And, as noted above, it wasn't necessary to spend additional money on doors or cabinets. The real proof is in the cooking - a year later, I find this grill an absolute delight to use.
