poor grill design and construction
By PY
I purchased the Blue Ember fiesta grill because of it's features and what appeared to be a durable construction. I was willing to pay a higher price for a long lasting quality grill. One year after purchase and approximately ten grilling events the drip pan completely disintegrated due to rust. In addition the slides which held the drip pan also rusted away from the inside frame; thus rendering a replacement pan of no value. The metal coating on the burner knobs is also peeling off the knobs. This grill presents serious safety hazards when hot grease pours onto the gas tank components through the rusted drip pan. The grill should be taken off the market to prevent serious injuries to consumers.

The product does not hold up for the price thatyou pay. Went through 3 temp. gauges and 2 drip pans in 4 years.Stainless Steel is poor quality rusts on doors. Forthe price I will go back to a WEBER which I never should havegiven up.

Great heat, horrible Customer Service, rusts quickly inside
By Ellen
We got our Blue Ember 3 years ago.We had done a lot of research before buying a grill. We were willing to spend more than in the past but didn't want to go as high as a Weber of the same size. Let me also say that my model has (FG50069) has been discontinued, but I find that this is it's replacement. I absolutely love the way this grill cooks. I had owned cheaper grills in the past and could only cook on the upper half. This has great heat distribution and doesn't have any hot spots. I was very happy. We had read that past models tended to be made of poor quality aluminum and this was the case with ours. At the end of the first season the drip pan had rusted. We didn't replace it because it was still hanging on. I recently noticed it had completely rusted/rotted (this started a big grease fire)and went on line to find a new one. I saw that many models, mine included, had been recalled for the gas hose and drip pan. Here's where my low rating comes in. If you call the number for the recall, you are placed on hold (I mean an hour - make sure you have your DVR cued up to catch up on your soaps like I did). They say for faster service to contact them by email. Tried that. Twice. No reply. I found their page on Facebook and there were countless complaints about the same lack of service. I googled their address to get another number from their office in Tn. Called that number. Got "for Blue Ember Recall press 0", which starts the whole automated process again. So I will never buy a Blue Ember product again. It's a total shame because it is a great grill if the company could stand behind it and fix the problems.
