This burnished bronze 60,000 total btu propane (lp) barbeque gas grill has 666 square-Inch of total cooking space. The control panel offer's an electronic easy push button start ignition, a large series of dials for each burner. The side shelves offer an open space for food preparations. A solid grill for a reasonable price

The first thing that struck me about this grill is the solid components it is made out of. Very high quality parts. I have used it a couple times so far and it performs very well, gets hot FAST!One thing to note, this is a higher BTU grill than the variety you would likely get for the same price at Sears or Home Depot. That means that it will pull the propane out of the tank at a higher rate. Propane tanks usually have a safety valve that cuts off the flow if it feels a sudden surge going through. This gave me a bit of a scare at first until I read in the instructions about it. Just turn everything back off. Wait a couple minutes so it resets, then slowly turn everything on little by little and you will be able to get everything out of the tank that the grill is wanting.This does have the negative side effect of draining propane tanks faster but penalizing the grill for that would be like penalizing an Olympic runner for wearing out his shoes quicker than most people.I definitely recommend this grill if you are looking for something better than the grills at Sears, but don't feel like shelling out thousands of dollars for a Webber.

Great grill!!

This is a great grill. The best part was the simplicity of putting it together!!! My husband and I have put together many grills that have taken hours upon hours. We had this one put together in one hour and ten minutes thanks to very good instructions and I am sure a whole lot of organization in the manufacturing of this product. It does a great job of cooking and it looks wonderful!!! So far - we are both very pleased!!

Lots of heat, good construction, bit of flare up

Assembly was was pretty straight forward. My 11 year old son and I put it together in an evening...not sure total time. Directions were good and it was not complicated.Looks very nice, very happy with that aspect. Quality of parts seems good. I also like the iron grates vs the thinner metal ones on my Weber Genesis that have started to rust through (again). Yes, I know you can get iron for the Weber as well. I had my 3 burner Weber for over 10 years and it gave excellent service. Probably should've have ponied up the $700 to get another but decided to take a shot. I read too much about other cheaper brands rusting out quickly. Not much info on Dyna-Glo grills but I found good reviews of their propane heaters so thought maybe they make a quality product and bought this grill for 1/2 the price of a new Weber. Inside of the lid of my Weber has been peeling paint for a few years, have to scrape and clean the flakes regularly. I noticed this one has unpainted steel on the underside so no potential for the same issue (can't recall if ss or galvanized...not going outside to look!).This puppy gets hot!!! Actually almost too hot. Items cook very fast and there is a bit of an issue with flare-ups off what on a Weber grill would be called the "flavorizer bars". The metal that the grease hits after dripping off the meat. I am hoping this diminishes with time and crust build-up.If you pre-heat on high and then toss your meat on it is way too hot for most things. I scorched my first few attempts. Now I preheat high, toss on the meat, leave on high very briefly to sear, and then turn all the way down to low to cook. There is no such thing as cooking anything slow on this grill even on low.Amazingly, everything that has come off this grill in the last month or so, even the first few scorched meals, have been tender and juicy on the inside. I guess the high heat really locks in the juices even if you overdo the outside a bit.This is a 5 star grill if not for the flare-ups and if the "low" setting was a little lower. If will report back if the flare-ups improve with time.Finally, the Classic Accessories Veranda Cart-Style BBQ Cover in size medium fits this grill perfectly. Quality cover but no idea why it is light tan/almost white. Was A Good Value

I bought this grill to use at my business for a weekly grill party for the employees. One of our production workers assembled the grill in about 30 minutes - there are a lot of parts. The key to a quick assembly is following the instructions exactly. Do not assume anything - check each part carefully to make sure it is the right one and that you are installing it correctly.The grill works fine, but has a few flaws. The grate is a fairly light wire with wide spacing, so you have to be careful flipping burgers or else they may slip through and end up at the bottom of the grill. Also the grate is flush with the top edge of the body so hot dogs will roll off onto the ground if you're not careful. But at about $90 it is a great buy! It does the job with a few minor inconveniences and there is a good side burner to boot!UpdateI paid less than $90 for this grill in May. It is now listed for more than $240. Even gas hasn't increased in price as fast. This grill is in no way worth more than about $100! Ours still works and does an acceptable job, but it needs frequent cleaning to minimize flareups and has the flaws mentioned in the original review. There are better deals elsewhere.

Char Broil Worked For ME!!

I don't normally write reviews but after seeing the one sided slanted review of this product I must retort. I helped my parents put this grill together after they ordered it and had no trouble at all. In response to the other review I must say "a bad carpenter always blames the tools rather than him/her self." Let's be honest, there is nothing fancy about this grill. My parents are older, and just wanted something simple to use to grill out every now and then. This grill has been perfect for them and they continue to bore my brother and I with their grilling success stories. If they were willing to take the time they would give it high marks so I am doing it for them.

What a piece of junk!

Let's cut to the chase...pick a different grille, I sure wish I had. Assembly was a nightmare, with instructions that were confusing, erratic and in some cases just plain WRONG. Now that the grille is finally together, it works well enough, but after only two weeks the finish imperfections on the top lid are starting to RUST! That's right, folks, it's not even aluminum. What a dumb choice for a product made to be left outdoors. CharBroil should be ashamed for putting their name on this product. If I could return it, I would...but how do you return an assembled grille?

Broil King Sovereign 70

Purchased this grill after doing a lot of research and reading reviews online. I found many positive reviews of the Broil King line of grills, but none on this specific model. I don't normally bother writing reviews, positive or negative on the products I buy, but I felt compelled to in this case. First I would have to say the quality of the grill is very good. It's better than the basic Webbers you find in the big box stores and maybe juts under the higher end Webber Genesis that cost $800 and up. After seeing grills that I have purchased in the past for $300-$450, fall apart after a few years, I was debating buying the cheapest grill I could find and plan on replacing it every other year or buy a higher quality grill that will last 5 to 10 years. Time will tell if I made the right choice as far as longevity is concerned. But having used the grill for the past three weeks, here is what I think so far:The grill is built to perform, heats fast, up to 600F in about 10 minutes and temp control is greatThe stainless steel grates are very heavy duty - solid stainless steelThe back burner works great with the rotisserie - cooked two chickens at the same time, they came out perfect!You do have to take the warming rack off to use the rotisserie, would be nice if you did not have to, but not a big dealThe warming rack is very largeThe stainless steel shelf's are very large and fold down very easilyThe base is made of plastic, some may think that a bad thing, but I like that design as that is the first place other grills have rusted.. Again, time will tell..The doors have plastic top and bottom caps with stainless steel fronts and powder coated backs.. Not sure I like the plastic caps for durability, but they look good.The sides and back are also powder coated steel, kind of thin, this would seem to be a bit of a weak point, we will see how they hold up. They are black, so if they rust, at least they can be painted..So now for a word of caution: I was a bit concerned about buying something as heavy as a grill and having it shipped UPS. The concern was well founded, the box was pretty beat up and there was damage to one of the stainless steel shelf's, the pins on the top of the doors were both broke and the handle had a scratch.The good news is that the Broil King and Amazon both stepped up and made it right. Amazon offered to take the grill back, they would have sent a new one, but they were on back order. Since I did not want to send it back, they offered to apply a partial refund to my credit card. Broil King sent me new parts, no hassle, I told them what I needed and they sent it no charge.I'm very satisfied with the customer service and the grill is great!

This is one fine grill!

I am 57 years old and have gone through more gas grills than I can remember. Needing another I began to research grills in the $1000.00 range because I figured that, in the past, I was just getting what I paid for. I came upon the Broil King and read nothing but good things about them. The Sovereign 70 had the features I valued so I then searched for the best price. I found that Amazon offered it lower by far than anywhere else. I ordered and it shipped in good time. It was damaged in a couple of places but a call to Amazon and replacement parts were on the way. Fortunately, the damage did not prevent it's assembly. Assembly was fairly easy. An hour or so. All essential components are of high quality especially the stainless cooking grids. Massive! Ditto with the stainless steel burners, huge. I have used it several tines and will say unequivocally it's the hottest grill I ever used. Steaks are charred perfectly. I love it! I was a bit miffed with the damage but all was forgiven after cooking with this grill. I'm only sorry I waited so long to buy a decent grill. By the way Broil King customer service was top notch as well.

Outstanding BBQ

This is everything you could want from a BBQ in this price range. It is solidly built, all parts are hi quality and, maybe most importantly, the grilling grids are solid stainless steel. My only criticism is the assembly. Be aware ... this is a serious DIY package. It wouldn't be so bad if the assembly manual were more helpful. The entire (yes, entire) manual is done in pictures ... no words of explanation. That said, the pictures are done well and I was able to assemble the unit with only a few minor missteps; but some words of explanation would have been helpful.Shipping from Amazon was faster than expected and delivery of this very heavy carton to my garage was without question although the garage is located quite some distance from the road.Bottom line is that I would recommend this to anyone with some home handyman/woman skill. Worth every cent - great grill

I had the earlier version of this grill. It survived nearly 10 years outside uncovered in the NJ weather before I moved it to NC. It survived another 8 years or so in NC before it became clear that it's time had come. During that time, I replaced the wooden slats (the slats are gone in the new model and the shelves are stainless steel) and the flavor bars once. I don't remember replacing the burner, but it is a possibility. Some time in this 18 or so years, the starter stopped working - I bought a new one and never got around to installing it. This grill owed me nothing, but when the burner finally went and I noticed some bad rust on the slide that holds the bottom on, I decided it was time for a new grill.I purchased the E310 grill as the replacement and it is great - so far seems better than I remember the other grill when it was new. Gets very hot very fast and cooks evenly. I look for a long life out of the new grill too. Seems like a lot of money, but these guys are the real deal.I also bought a large char-grill so called "professional" model a couple of years ago for another house at a local home center, and it seemed OK. But, the stainless steel housing is now deteriorating and I expect to get about five years total out of it - max. I have replaced the flavor bars already and I had to do some rigging them in because the supports were deteriorated. I think I paid about 400 for that grill, so you do the math!The only complaint I have about the Weber is that the cooking surface is a bit small compared to their competitors on a dollar for dollar basis, but it is generally plenty big unless you are having quite a big party or something. I also note that you should follow the in structions carefully in putting it together. Part of the top shelf is a little tricky - be patient and all will go well.

You get what you pay for

I've had several grills, gas and coal. Gas grills seemed ok at 1st but would not get as hot, or even and then just be a pain to use.I wanted to buy quality that would last and with research Weber seemed to be a top choice. They cost more, and seemed to have less size/btu specs than the competition costing hundreds less.I've got to confirm that after building and using the new Genesis 310 LP, I'm convinced that I got what I paid for. This grill is pure quality. Every piece of the grill acts to make it a more solid construction. The Grill Tub itself is solid, thick and looks like it could last forever. Even the cleaning trays are well designed.I snapped a bolt by over wrenching it when putting it together. It was a Sunday afternoon, so I registered my grill on the web site, then called support. I got a live person in less than 3 min. I gave him my name and zip code and he had all my information from the registration I just submitted. I told him the issue, and they have sent out two new bolt+nuts. He also asked if I had a Weber grill before. I hadn't so I told him such. He then gave me tips on how to clean it, how to light it, and directed me to the weber nation website.This product was worth the money, and getting free shipping from Amazon just made it better.Hope that helps anyone sitting on the fence because of price.

Change is not always good.

I have owned the earlier version of this grill for 12 years, and it has served flawlessly, with some periodic replacement of parts. We recently bought this unit, which has a slightly larger grilling area, and the knobs are on the front, instead of the side, which does provide for two large work areas on either side of the grill. It is a very solid unit, which I am sure will last for years also. However, the burners run from front to back, rather than side to side. Because of the rectangular shape, the result is less burner area, and bigger gaps between the burners. Indeed, this grill takes much longer to heat up, and will not heat past about 550 degrees. The older unit would heat twice as fast and easily reach 700 degrees, which is important for searing, and heat recovery after opening to add or remove food. Additionally, flavorizer bars, which are an important design feature, are not as effective because the flame, which now goes front to back, only touches three of the bars, as opposed to going across all flavorizer bars in the old unit with the flame going side to side, perpendicular to the bars. As a result, the grilling surface heating area is uneven, with some spots hotter than others. If you are interested in very hot grilling surface, you should consider sticking with the side to side burner units with the knobs on the side.

Does it work? Short answer: no

I ordered this item in search of the holy grail for indoor grilling. The idea is very tempting but the result disappoints. It grills, but just slightly, and smokeless it aint exactly. With the lid on it becomes a sort of oven.Of course it all depends with what you compare it to (it grills beter than a microwave oven...). But a decent grilling pan or oven with grilling features would be a better investment in my opinion.So I give 5 stars for the idea, but one for the result.
